I am forever thankful for Dr. Sternberg and the Care he Provided my Son

My son, Sam, developed pilonidal disease around the age of 17 and had surgery performed by a local general surgeon in the New Orleans area. The surgery appeared to be a success for awhile and he went off to college. However, over the next few months he became convinced the pilonidal disease had reoccurred. For 2 years he dealt with this painful and embarrassing condition, and we were hesitant to trust another surgeon to possibly perform another unsuccessful surgery.
I found Dr. Sternberg’s website late one night in June 2018 and immediately sensed that this man was passionate about his patients and dedicated to permanently curing them of this awful condition. Surprisingly, we were able to get an appointment in just a couple of weeks. Dr. Sternberg was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the disease, but also incredibly thorough in his physical examination, the explanation of the disease, and the procedure that he had developed to cure the disease once and for all. Our initial visit was so informative and reassuring that we confidently scheduled my son’s surgery for 2 weeks later. Sam had the “Cleft Lift” surgery in late July, and it has changed his life. Dr. Sternberg continued to follow up with Sam by personally calling him to check on his recovery.
It has been 6 years since the surgery and Sam has had no further issues. It was 100% worth the cost and inconvenience of traveling to San Francisco from Louisiana to receive treatment from Dr. Sternberg. He is so compassionate and has the very special gift of putting his patients at ease in a very awkward situation. I am forever thankful for Dr. Sternberg and the wonderful care he provided my son.
